    Frequently Asked Questions

What services are offered at Coquitlam Physio & Health?

We provide a comprehensive, multidisciplinary approach to recovery and longevity. Our services include Physiotherapy, Chiropractic Care, Kinesiology (Active Rehab), Registered Massage Therapy (RMT), Acupuncture, and Clinical Counselling. We also house specialized Naturopathic Medicine focusing on hormone health, IV Therapy, and more. We are a fully integrated clinic.

Yes. We understand that starting a wellness journey is a significant step. For Naturopathic Medicine, we offer two remote inquiry options to discuss your health goals:

    • Free 10-Minute Phone Inquiry: A brief introductory call to see if our approach is right for you.

    • 15-Minute Telemedicine Consultation: A focused video call for patients who prefer a face-to-face remote discussion before their first in-clinic visit.

No referral is necessary to visit our clinic for private care, ICBC, or WorkSafeBC (WSBC) claims. Please note that while we don't require one, a small number of private extended health plans may ask for a referral for reimbursement - we recommend checking your specific policy. Additionally, a doctor's referral may be required after the pre-approved period (12 weeks following a motor vehicle accident).

Yes. We are specialists in motor vehicle and workplace accident recovery. For all approved ICBC and WSBC claims, we offer $0 User Fees for most services. This means you can access Physiotherapy, Kinesiology, Chiropractic Care, and more with no out-of-pocket expenses. Please note that Registered Massage Therapy (RMT) sessions have a $5 user fee.

We offer seamless direct billing to the majority of major Canadian insurers to save you the paperwork. We work with:

    • Canada Life, Sun Life, and Manulife

    • Pacific Blue Cross and Medavie Blue Cross

    • Empire Life

    • Desjardins, Equitable Life, and more.

    • If you don’t see your provider listed, contact our front desk to see if we work with them.

Please bring your BC Services Card (PHN) and a list of any current medications. If your visit is for an ICBC or WSBC claim, bring your Claim Number and your adjuster/claim specialist’s contact details. If you have recent imaging results (X-rays/MRIs) or hospital discharge papers, these are incredibly helpful for our team. If your 12-week pre-approved period has passed and you have already received approval confirmation from your adjuster, please send that to us ahead of your appointment.

Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows you to move freely. If we are treating a specific area (like a knee or shoulder), please wear clothing that allows easy clinical access to that joint, such as shorts or a tank top.

We prioritize clinical outcomes over volume, ensuring each session provides focused, high-value care. Durations vary based on your specific service and needs:

    • Physiotherapy: Initial assessments are 30 minutes.

    • Naturopathic Medicine: Initial consultations with our Naturopathic Doctor are comprehensive and run 45–60 minutes.

    • Chiropractic Care: Your initial session is scheduled for 40 minutes to allow for a full structural assessment and first treatment.

    • Kinesiology (Active Rehab): Initial assessments are 45 minutes to evaluate movement patterns and design your custom exercise program.

    • Massage Therapy (RMT): Initial assessments are 30 minutes, while subsequent treatments are typically 45 to 60 minutes depending on your recovery needs.
